3e Casuïstiek in de nefrologie bij de volwassen populatie

Na twee succesvolle edities van de nascholingscursus Casuïstiek in de nefrologie bij de volwassen populatie, organiseren wij van 10 t/m 12 mei 2023 de derde editie.

Het concept, 13 jaar geleden door de sectie kindernefrologie bedacht, houdt in dat er verschillende thema’s behandeld worden. Er was een korte inleiding door een nefroloog met kennis van zaken, gevolgd door het bespreken van casuïstiek. Er werden casussen ingebracht door de sprekers die uitgewerkt werden door de deelnemers. En we nodigden deelnemers van harte uit om lastige casuïstiek uit hun eigen ziekenhuis in te brengen voor discussie en advies. Op die manier vergrootten we de interactie tussen de deelnemers, zodat zij elkaar beter leerden kennen en in de toekomst van elkaars expertise gebruik kunnen maken.

    Niertransplantatie: tacrolimus en andere immunosuppressieve therapie anno 2023
    Nieuwe ontwikkelingen op het gebied van de immunosuppressieve therapie na niertransplantatie zullen worden behandeld, waarbij de nadruk ligt op tacrolimus. Nieuwe formuleringen van tacrolimus (Envarsus), doserings-algoritmen voor het (door)doseren van tacrolimus, home monitoring met DBS en intra-cellulaire tacrolimus metingen zullen worden besproken. Daarnaast zal anti-rejectie therapie met het geneesmiddel alemtuzumab worden behandeld en zal worden stil gestaan bij de huidige plaats van belatacept, immunosuppressieve therapie bij de oudere niertransplantatie patient (OPTIMIZE trial) en nieuwe ontwikkelingen zoals CAR T reg therapie.

    Nieuwe ontwikkelingen in de behandeling van de IgA nefropathie
    IgA-nefropathie ontwikkelt zich snel. We bespreken kort de ontwikkelingen op het gebied van diagnose en prognose, en richten ons vervolgens op de behandeling van IgA-nefropathie, waarbij vele nieuwe therapeutische opties beschikbaar zijn of komen, waaronder SGLT2-remmers, dubbelwerkende angiotensinereceptorblokkers en endotheelreceptorantagonisten, complementremmers en B-celgerichte therapie.

    Chronische nierschade, nieuwste ontwikkelingen
    Recent zijn diverse geneesmiddelen verschenen die zogenoemde cardio-renale bescherming kunnen bieden aan patiënten met chronische nierschade (CNS), zoals SGLT2-remmers en MRAs, maar ook bijvoorbeeld GLP-1 agonisten en ARNIs bij specifieke groepen. We bespreken bij welke patiënten met CNS deze middelen (duidelijke) meerwaarde hebben en welke aandachtspunten ze voor de nefroloog met zich meebrengen.

Daarnaast zal de invulling van conservatieve therapie aan bod komen, waarbij er geleidelijk een verschuiving is van curatieve naar palliatieve behandeling. Tijdens de casuïstiekbespreking komen “best practices” aan bod voor het bespreken van conservatieve therapie.

3e Multidisciplinaire Benelux MGRS Workshop: van Eiwitpiek tot Kliniek

Bij de diagnostiek en behandeling van MGRS (Monoclonal Gammopathy of Renal Significance) is een nauwe samenwerking tussen laboratoriumspecialisten, nefrologen, pathologen en hematologen vereist.
Na succesvolle edities in 2019 en 2021, kwamen deze vakgebieden in 2023 opnieuw bij elkaar om een optimale omgeving te creëren voor interactie en bijscholing.
Tijdens deze interactieve en laagdrempelige workshop maakte de deelnemers kennis met elkaars vakgebied.

    MGRS: definitie en verschijningsvormen
    MGRS omvat alle vormen van nierschade, veroorzaakt door een M-proteïne,
    waarbij er geen sprake is van een hematologische maligniteit die
    behandeling behoeft. De nierschade kan het gevolg zijn van directe (neerslag
    van M-proteïne in de nier) of indirecte (activatie complement) effecten
    van het M-proteïne. Alle compartimenten van de nier (glomerulus, tubuli,
    interstitium) kunnen betrokken zijn. In deze lezing worden de verschillende,
    als MGRS gedefinieerde nieraandoeningen besproken, met de nadruk op de
    verschillende diagnostische kenmerken.

7e Limburgs Hartfalen Symposium

Op dinsdag 1 oktober 2024 vond het 7e Limburgs Hartfalen Symposium plaats in het Van der Valk Hotel Stein-Urmond. De innovatie binnen hartfalen gaat razendsnel, met nieuwe richtlijnen, nieuwe wetenschappelijke inzichten en meerdere behandelopties.

Onder voorzitterschap van dr. A.M.W. van Stipdonk presenteerden collega’s uit de regio een onderwerp aan de hand van een interactieve casus over ‘een gedecompenseerde patiënt met nieuw HFrEF’. Daarbij was voldoende ruimte voor interactie en discussie tussen sprekers en deelnemers.

Cardiologie Symposium Zuidwest-Nederland

Op 6 juni 2024 werd het Cardiologie Symposium Zuidwest-Nederland in Breda georganiseerd.

Hybride Ontmoetingsdag Amyloïdose 2024

Op zaterdag 8 juni 2024 organiseerde Stichting Amyloïdose Nederland weer de jaarlijkse Ontmoetingsdag voor patiënten met amyloïdose, hun naasten, medici en andere geïnteresseerden.
Ook dit jaar was de plaats van samenkomst in Nijkerk. Een deel van het programma was ook online bij te wonen.

The meeting fee
The meeting fee consists of the fixed registration fee of € 350,- and the room rate.
The room rate is variable and depends on the option you choose; you can book a room for single use or share a room/studio with one other person.

  • After registration, your participation is confirmed and final.
  • After March 15, 2024, the meeting fee is not refundable. Substitutions are always accepted.
  • You will receive an email from us with further information about travel options to Holwerd, from where we will take the ferry to Ameland.
  • The meeting fee covers your program participation, all the meals and coffee breaks, local sight-seeing tour, the transfer with a chartered ferry from main land (port Holwerd) to the island of Ameland (Nes) on April 19 at 3.00 PM and return on April 23 at 09.00 AM., bus transfer from train station Leeuwarden to harbor of Holwerd on April 19 at 2.00 PM and on April 23 at 10.10 AM, bus trips on the island.
  • When you check-in at the hotel, you receive 12 coins for drinks during dinner for the 4 nights.
  • All f&b outside the conference program in the hotel, the bar or outside the hotel are at your own expense. For drinks in the hotel, you can pay cash/payment card.

the 25th Meeting of the European Red Cell Society

From April 19-23, 2024 we have organized the 25th meeting of the European Red Cell Society. The meeting was held at Hotel Noordsee, Ameland, the Netherlands.

This biannual International meeting attracts leading experts in the fields of erythropoiesis, red blood cell physiology and function, and red blood cell related disorders. It is an event that brings together 100+ people from Europe and beyond, and connects the fields of research, diagnostics and clinical implications. The target audience are researchers (basic and translational), laboratory specialists, hematologists, and PhD students.

Organizing committee
